Lightweight construction - material - simulation - noise, vibration, harshness (NVH) - testing: We at BOGE stand for a high level of competence and excellence in these technology areas.
Continuous Endless fiber-reinforced plastics offer diverse lightweight construction potential in the automotive industry. Taking the example of a safety-critical component, BOGE Rubber & Plastics demonstrates a fully automated process chain based on a brake pedal, which is manufactured from plastic granulate and pre-consolidated fiber-matrix semi-finished products ( organic sheets). The weight savings realized in the series production process are between 40 and 55% compared with conventional brake pedals.
In addition, endless fiber-reinforced plastics can be used in the transportation industry to help reduce fleet consumption or compensate for battery weight in increasing unit-production scenarios.
- Lightweight design with endless fibers ( organic sheets and tapes)
- Fully automated processing, experienced series supplier for automotive quantities
- BOGE as a key partner providing a fully closed development chain
In the materials engineering lab, all materials and raw materials used are tested and analyzed as part of incoming goods inspections, damage analyses or as a basis for digital development. In addition to chemical analysis (thermal analysis, chromatography and spectroscopy) and the determination of mechanical characteristic values, a computed tomographic system is also available for non-destructive testing.
The focus of development is on acoustically optimized rubber compounds with maximum service life and aging resistance as well as new innovative and sustainable bonding systems for chassis and engine mounts.
- Material characterization of elastomers, plastics and surfaces
- Development of new rubber compounds with maximum service life and high temperature resistance
- Smart Materials: Dielectric elastomers and vibro-acoustic metamaterials
The aim of process simulation is to assist in component design, to find suitable process parameters and to identify optimization potential. One focus is on integrative simulation. Here, the fiber orientation from the injection molding simulation is transferred to the structure simulation for an anisotropic calculation of stresses (Finite Element Analysis/FEA).
Virtual prototyping supports the entire product development process. Numerical methods are used to simulate component behavior ranging from stress analyses and force-displacement calculations to service life estimation. This virtual validation leads to savings of real prototypes. Thus, the development time and the development costs are reduced.
To shorten development times, digital twins of our components can be created, for example, for complete vehicle simulation. Digital twins are computer-generated,virtual images of our products based on mathematical models.

NVH stands for Noise, Vibration, Harshness and plays a major role in the automotive industry when it comes to ride comfort, stability and safety. Whether chassis, powertrain or body - all components and systems cause noise and vibration. Already in the vehicle development phase, our experts take care of optimizing the noise and vibration level with the aim of keeping it as low as possible later in the vehicle. Our products offer optimum vibration damping and noise insulation for all types of vehicles and are ideal for lightweight design - which is the key technology of tomorrow.
- E-mobility and lightweight design increase sensitivity to noise
- Expansion of the relevant frequency band in the range of several kHz
- High demands on simulation and testing - indirect testing with shaker
In testing, the inspection and testing tasks are implemented in the development and quality departments of the plants. In doing so, we offer solutions from the testing task to the report. This includes test stand development, test stand construction, programming, test stand operation as well as evaluation and analysis. The tests are based on customer specifications or, if not available, on test specifications defined by BOGE. In the BOGE test facility, service life tests can be performed based on operating loads, block programs, sinusoidal or constant loads. The tests can also be carried out with temperature control, climate change as well as under exposure to corrosion media.
- Solutions from the testing task to the test report
- Durability and functional tests on individual components as well as assemblies
- Load data, from analysis to test stand preparation
