We have created expert commodity teams in order to meet the continually increasing demands of global purchasing. The central purchasing teams are based at the locations in Damme and Bonn with a focus on the foreign locations in Australia, Brazil, China, France, Slovakia and USA.
The fundamental objective of our procurement market strategy is to support cooperation in a spirit of a sustainable partnership-based working relationship with our suppliers. The basis of every business transaction is the currently valid “List of approved suppliers“. When selecting suppliers, we place particular importance on choosing partners who continually contribute to an optimization of the entire value chain in close cooperation with us throughout the lifetime of a contract. A key component is the constant readiness for innovation and flexibility of our suppliers in compliance with our currently valid requirements and those of our common customers. For us, early involvement is not just an empty phrase but a strategic success factor. The early involvement of the suppliers in our development processes generates an important contribution to earnings for both parties taking total cost into account. With our Code of Conduct we affirm commitment to this Code of Conduct towards our customers – we, in turn, expect the same from our suppliers.
